in 1946, Cathay Pacific quickly expanded its
service before 1948. The airline was originally
based in Shanghai, but it was later moved to
Hong Kong where its two originals founders moved.
Cathay Pacific's quick expansion opened doors
for trading companies to buy shares. One company,
Butterfield & Swire, bought an amazing 45%
of the company's shares. Later, the Swire Group
became responsible for the airlines management.
